The latest development in the electronic area have been used for these battery chargers. The demand of the battery manufactures has been fulfilled, so the battery obtains highest possible capacity. RANGE OF APPLICATION Charging of: Lead/acid batteries CHARGING PRINCIPLE, Wa Charges in accordance to DIN 41774, decreasing charge characteristics. ![]() CONNECTION 1. Switch on the battery charger: Green LED 2 flashes 2. Connect the battery to the charger: After 5 second the red LED illuminates 3. Disconnection of battery: Turn of the battery charger before the battery is disconnected |
THE
CHARGING EVENT When the charging has started, the fullautomatic battery charger runs and controls the whole charging event. Red LED: - illuminates by main charging - flashes by error Yellow LED: - illuminates when the given voltage has been reached Green LED 1: - illuminates by maintenance charging Green LED 2: - illuminates when the battery is fully charged - flashes if low battery voltage -flashes for missing battery DISCONNECTION OF BATTERY Turn off the mains to the battery charger before you disconnect the battery. |

Green 2: - flashes when battery voltage is too low |
| Red: - flashes when battery voltage is too high |
|
Red and yellow: - flashes by too low charging current |
| Red
and green 1: - flashes if the main charging time exceeds 10 hours |
|
Green 1 and green 2: - flashes by relay malfunction |
| Green
1: - flashes by too high temp. in transformer |
| Wa: | The principle of charging can be used for lead/acid batteries for traction purposes. |
| Decreasing current by increasing voltage. This type of charging is normally controlled by the transformer and cut off after a given time. By 2.1 V/C the charging current is 100%. At gassing voltage the current is reduced to 50% and by 2.7 V/C the current is reduced to 25%. Gassing charging is equal to main charging but max. 4 hours. After gassing charging the charging is cut off and green LED 2 illuminates. If the gassing voltage is not reached within 10 hours the charging is cut off and red and green 1 LED's flashes. Trickle charging takes place for 3 minutes every hour. If the 12 hour emergency charging is interrupted it is necessary to disconnect both mains and battery. |

| Decreasing current by increasing voltage. This type of charging is normally controlled by the transformer and cut off after a given time. The charger operates in two steps. Below gassing voltage step 1 is cut in. Al gassing voltage the charger switches over to step 2 and the time for additional charging time is equal to main charging time but max. 4 hours. If the gassing voltage is not reached within 10 hours the charging is cut off and red and green 1 LED's flashes. Trickle charging takes place for 3 minutes every hour.
